Peña Ganchegui Award ceremony for Young Basque Architecture
On Thursday, October 7, the Basque Country Architecture Institute will host the award ceremony for the Peña Ganchegui Award for Young Basque Architecture.
Created with the intention of distinguishing young talents in Basque Architecture, and convened since 2017 by the Peña Ganchegui Archive in collaboration with the Basque Government’s Housing and Architecture Directorate, the Peña Ganchegui Award is named after one of the Basque architects highlights of the second half of the twentieth century. This new edition is held on the 95th anniversary of his birth, and is aimed at architects with less than 10 years of experience, who have graduated or have their activity in the Basque Country. On a biennial basis, this new edition coincides with the Basque Country International Architecture Biennial MUGAK, which this year celebrates its third edition.
Announced last May, the award will be awarded within the Architecture Week, where the winner of this edition will be known, which will also be the subject of an exhibition within the MUGAK Biennial, which will take place from October 27 to November 30 this year.
