The Basque Country Architecture Institute and arc en rêve present the panel discussion “Happy together- architecture and collective lives” which kicks off the new exhibition organized jointly by both institutions, “Living together. European Collective Housing Award”. This exhibition arises from the first edition of the European Collective Housing Award organized by both institutions with the support of the Department of Housing and Urban Agenda of the Basque Government.

The panel discussion is composed of agents who have contributed to the implementation and development of the award as well as architects who have participated in it. We will discuss how architecture gives us opportunities to live collectively and the role that architecture and housing have in people’s lives, claiming the construction of quality collective housing as a fundamental pillar for the development of our societies and the preservation of the welfare state.

At the panel we will count with the presence of:

  • Aurora Fernández Per, Member of the Advisory Board of the European Award for Collective Housing, Journalist and founder of the architecture magazine a+t architecture magazine and a+t architecture publishers.
  • Bernard Blanc, Member of the Advisory Board of the European Collective Housing Award and former Vice-Councillor for Urban Planning and Strategies, Bordeaux City Council.
  • Ernest Garriga, Member of La Col, winning studio of the European Award for Collective Housing in new construction for La Borda
  • Pietro Ambrosini Campomarzio, Member of Campomarzio Studio, finalist in the renovation category of the European Collective Housing Award for “Renovation of a 1970’s social housing complex”.
