>“Young Latin American Architecture”, an exhibition organized by AREA with the support of the Government of Navarre, Pamplona City Council, the Basque-Navarrese Association of Architects, and the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra.

>Fourteen teams from Argentina, Brazil, Central America, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, and Uruguay make up the selection of architects under the age of 40 featured in the exhibition.

The Basque Institute of Architecture (IAE) presents Young Latin American Architecture, an exhibition showcasing the contents of the Ninth Edition of the Latin American Architecture Biennial (BAL). For the past eighteen years, this initiative has highlighted architecture designed and led by young Latin American architects under the age of forty.

Organized by AREA, the exhibition arrives at the IAE as part of the Institute’s commitment to bringing architecture closer to the public and fostering debate around contemporary architectural practice. Challenging the widespread assumption that the finest architecture is produced in the world’s most economically powerful countries, Young Latin American Architecture demonstrates that outstanding architectural work is also being created in countries facing significant social and economic challenges. Latin America is a remarkable example of this reality, and the Biennial has been demonstrating it with rigor and consistency for almost two decades.

The exhibition presented at the Institute offers a broad and nuanced overview of both contemporary and historical Latin American architecture. It features the BAL 2025 selection of emerging architects, bringing together the fourteen finalist teams from this edition, representing eight countries and regions: Argentina, Brazil, Central America, Chile, Colombia/Caribbean, Mexico, Paraguay, and Uruguay.

The exhibition “Young Latin American Architecture” is located at the cloister of the institute.
