HEZI. Lecture by Roberto González. Reggio School
April 18. 7 p.m.
Roberto González, director of Office for Political Innovation (OFFPOLINN).
This office founded by Andres Jaque in 2003, based in Madrid and New York, works at the intersection of research, critical environmental practices and design. Gonzalez has participated in and directed projects such as the Reggio School in Encinar de los Reyes in Madrid, a project that is among the finalists for the Mies van der Rohe Award 2024. The school’s design, developed through a participatory process in conversation with teachers, students and parents, is based on the idea that architectural environments can arouse in children a desire for exploration and inquiry. Furthermore, the design, construction and use of this building is intended to exceed the paradigm of sustainability to engage with ecology as an approach where environmental impact, more-than-human alliances, material mobilization, collective governance and pedagogies intersect through architecture.
