Interior architecture as a tool for urban regeneration. The Basque Country Architecture Institute hosts a prototype of autonomous spaces for growing vegetables indoors, the result of the Udategiak project.

The artifact has been built through a participatory workshop in which conditions such as temperature, humidity, irrigation and light have been created thanks to sensors and controllers. This allows vegetation of different climates (geography) and seasons (time) to grow in this space. The efficiency of agricultural production will also be maximized. The artifact created together with Antonio Scarponi, an Italian architect and designer specialized in this type of construction, can be visited until April 4, 2021.

The Udategiak project is promoted by the Food Hack Lab. Udategiak has been created with the contribution of the Gipuzkoa Provincial Council, the Basque Country Architecture Institute and the San Sebastián City Hall.
